“ I was visiting the Newport area and Matunuck was recommended by a local. I am from a beach town and have had plenty of seafood in many areas but Matunuck may be one of the best seafood spots I’ve been to. Everything we ordered both food and drink was on point, our waiter was super professional, and the location provides great ambiance. I may have to make the 4 hour drive back just to visit again. ”
“ Stopped by Matunuck Oyster Bar for lunch on our way to Newport since we were craving some lobster rolls. We started off with some oysters and calamari which were both very good. The oysterman were right outside the restaurant window hard at work so we opted for the Matunuck oysters. Right amount of brine and really fresh! The calamari was a mixture of fried veggies and calamari which made it more interesting. We both got the same lobster rolls, chilled with mayo. I subbed the fries for the beets and goat cheese salad to get something green in my diet. Our son just wanted the pasta of the kiddie menu. He said he liked it. Our waitress and view from the table were great. ”
“ Made the hour and a half drive from CT last Sunday to relive the experience of savoring one of the best lobster rolls I've had when I visited for the first time on a work trip last year. It was just as good as I remembered. Staff was extremely accommodating and the food and drinks came quicker than expected given how busy they were. This place is an absolute gem. I was shocked to find out about the fire that engulfed the place just two days after I visited again. I'm glad no one was hurt but it definitely sucks to hear it happen to such a great restaurant. I hope they can make a recovery, I will definitely be back again. ”
“ By far one of the best restaurants if not the best in Providence and Boston area. We tried the chowder, mussels, shrimp tempura roll, and oyster for appetizers. For the entree, we got the sea bass dish and the scallops. And then the espresso shot with flour free cake. The food was amazing! The staffs are so friendly and hospitable. The ambience is very warm and welcoming. Highly recommend and will definitely go again. ”
“ Omg I loved this restaurant so much! They are so accommodating because my mom and I couldn’t have gluten, rice, beans, or corn so they let us know what everything we thought about ordering had before we ordered it. The oysters are the BEST, and I had the king crab which was so good and so filling. My mom ordered the blackened yellowfin tuna which was also so good. Delicious food and great service 10/10. Many servers came over to check on us to see if everything was okay. There are a few places to sit: under the tent, sun room, bar, upstairs. Nice view from each seat but mostly the sun room. Definitely will be coming back when I’m in Rhode Island again. ”
